Q: How soon can I have my blood work and EKG done prior to surgery?
A: Unless they specify a certain time frame most EKGs, chest x-rays, and CBCs are all good for 6 months. The tests that you will need to get done are circled on your doctors order sheet that is included in your surgery packet that has either been given to you in the office or has been mailed.
Q: Can I have a private room during my stay at the hospital following my surgery?
A: At Clarian North all rooms are private rooms so you have unlimited visiting hours and family members are welcome to spend the night. At Methodist Hospital there are only limited private rooms available. You would need to place a request when you receive a phone call from the admitting department at Methodist Hospital for pre-registration for your hospital stay.
Q: Who takes care of my insurance precertification prior to my surgery?
A: The surgery coordinator takes care of all precertifications prior to surgery. For benefit information you will need to call the customer service number listed on the front of your insurance card and they will be able to update you on your benefits.
